Introduction to the Cruise Line Industry

This faculty-led trip introduces you to commercial recreation, tourism, hospitality, and business while gaining hands-on information about the cruise line industry. You'll travel to Mexico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Island over your winter break.

  • Germany/Austria

    The focus of this faculty-led trip to Germany/Austria will be a comparative analysis of German/Austrian vs. American professional and recreational sports. Emphasis will be placed upon management techniques and practices which will provide students with a global perspective of these topics.  The highlight of the program will be a capstone 5-day excursion through Bavaria and Austria, with additional field trips to other sites in various locations in Germany.

  • Italy

    This faculty-led trip to Italy examines the healthy lifestyle behaviors of Italians. You'll take a cooking class, hike Cinque Terre National Park, visit Pisa, and more.

  • New Zealand

    Focus on sports, physical activity, and recreation on this faculty-led trip to New Zealand. Visit governing organizations, tour facilities, and do ecotourism activities such as bungee jumping, hiking, and jet boating.

  • Poland

    Take a two-week cultural immersion trip to Poland. Faculty will lead you on a visit to Opole University of Technology, Krakow, Wroclaw, and other locations of historical significance in southern Poland.

  • Russia

    Led by Illinois State faculty, this summer program takes you on a trip to Vladimir State University. You'll share current trends and practices with other students and professors from the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Cultural excursions included.
