SMART Clinic Services

Optimal rehabilitation services and explicit education of injuries are the cornerstone philosophies of the SMART Clinic. Our professional and experienced staff will provide you with the most up-to-date rehabilitation techniques and services to quickly and effectively restore your normal function, while reducing pain and discomfort. Next, we will educate you and provide further preventative exercises, which you can continue after your rehabilitation to minimize the risk of subsequent injuries. Our goals are to:

  1. Provide rehabilitation services for a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and soft tissue injuries.
  2. Educate students on preventative measures for reducing the incidence of orthopedic related injuries.
  3. Provide quality research in the areas of orthopedic injury prevention, diagnoses, and rehabilitation.

  • Muscle energy techniques

  • Joint mobilization and traction
  • Cold and warm whirlpool modalities
  • Ultrasound
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Therapeutic massage
  • Isokinetic strength testing
  • Education regarding prevention and rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries

The SMART Clinic treats a variety of orthopedic related injuries including, but not limited to:

  • Ligament sprains
  • Muscle strains
  • Muscle soreness/stiffness

  • Tendonitis/tendonosis
  • Dislocations/subluxations
  • Shin splints
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Post-surgical injuries
  • Neuropathies (e.g. carpal tunnel, stingers/burners, tarsal tunnel, DeQuervains syndrome)
  • Meniscal tears

  • Intravertebral disc dysfunctions
