Recreation Management

Recreation Management professionals plan, organize, and administer recreation and sport programs, services, and activities for people from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of interests.

Examples of employment settings are sports/fitness centers, park districts, employee recreation programs, hotels, resorts, theme parks, cruise lines, theaters, high adventure outdoor pursuits, camps, and the travel/tourism industry.

Professional Certifications

Recreation Management graduates are eligible and prepared to take the Certified Park and Recreation Professional examination.  

Real World Experience, Real Outcomes

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2010), overall employment of recreation workers is projected to increase by 15 percent between 2008 and 2018, which is faster than the average for all occupations.
