Financial Aid

Each year, many of our Kinesiology and Recreation graduate students receive financial assistance in the form of loans, grants, employment, scholarships, tuition waivers, and graduate assistantships.

KNR graduate tuition waiver applications are due to Dr. Noelle Selkow for spring 2017 (January 2, 2017), summer 2017 (May 1, 2017), and fall 2017 (August 1, 2017).

Graduate assistantships are available with KNR as well as within other departments on campus. Graduate assistantships include a full-tuition waiver and a competitive stipend, are available for full-time students. A limited number of assistantships become available for spring semester; submit your application with your Graduate School application.

Other forms of financial aid, including financial assistance, Diversity Tuition Waivers, and scholarships, are available to qualified applicants from the Financial Aid Office and Graduate School. Early applications for financial aid are encouraged. Late applications may receive consideration, if positions are still available. If no assistantships are currently available, you are encouraged to reapply for future semesters.

In addition to completing a Teaching Graduate Assistantship application for positions within KNR, you must also complete a Teaching Preference form and upload where specificed in the Graduate Assistantship Application.

Eligibility and Selection for Graduate Assistantships

Students meeting the admission requirements of the School are eligible for a graduate assistantship. Acceptance into the graduate program does not guarantee financial support will be awarded.
