Please visit the Office of Admissions to begin the graduate school application process at Illinois State University. Because the application process can be overwhelming, a checklist has been developed to guide you through the process.
Applications are reviewed by the Graduate Program director and by graduate faculty in your identified sequence. Applications to graduate sequences are accepting at the following times:
Applied Community and Economic Development, Fall only
Athletic Training, Fall only
Biomechanics, Fall and Spring
Exercise Physiology, Fall only
Physical Education Pedagogy, Fall, Spring, Summer
Psychology of Sport, Fall only
Recreation Administration, Fall only
Sport Management, Fall only
For entrance into the Graduate Program in KNR:
Students without a background in Kinesiology or Recreation may be admitted, but additional undergraduate prerequisites to graduate coursework will be required. Exceptions to these criteria are made on a case-by-case basis.
Before applying to the program, prospective students are encouraged to contact faculty in their sequence of interest to discuss acceptance into the program. Consideration for acceptance depends on current enrollments and anticipated openings for the next semester.
If you would like to talk to graduate students who are currently in the KNR program, we would be happy to connect you. They can give you information about what the program is like from a student’s perspective. Simply e-mail Dr. Noelle Selkow and specify your sequence.
