Athletic Training
If you're looking towards transferring to Illinois State's Athletic Training program from a junior college, it is recommended you do so after one year. If successfully admitted, the student will be required to take, at a minimum, five semesters of coursework and complete a summer internship.
This means the education plan, including the year at the junior college and the internship, will take 9 semesters minimum to complete.
In contrast, students looking to transfer with two years at a junior college or an associates degree will still need to complete the five semesters of coursework and summer internship described above.
Students planning to transfer from an accredited Athletic Training program should make sure the director of their current program and the program director at Illinois State are in contact as soon as possible regarding the possible transfer of required athletic training courses. Please note, however, in most cases the student must repeat required AT courses at Illinois State University.
